McGregor Point Light
20° 46.6′ N · 156° 31.4′ W
The small white light on McGregor Point at the west side of Maalaea Bay, the corner you round leaving Maalaea for Lahaina and a favourite roadside whale lookout.
Practical
Light at 20 46'39"N, 156 31'22"W, 72 ft above the water on a 20 ft white tower; a row of wind turbines is prominent NNE of it (Coast Pilot). Papawai Point, 0.9 mile west, is the southernmost point of West Maui with deep water close inshore. McGregor Point is a Pacific Whale Foundation Great Whale Count station (Jan 30, Feb 27, Mar 27, 2027). Expect the Maalaea wind acceleration to ease as you round west of here toward the Pali.
