Maalaea Harbor Fuel (Truck Delivery)

20° 47.5′ N · 156° 30.7′ W · approximate

Maalaea has no fixed fuel dock: gasoline and diesel come to the boat by tank truck under a DOBOR concession, which makes it the practical fuel stop for visiting boats on the leeward side while Lahaina is restricted.

Practical

Coordinate is approx (Maalaea harbor office). DOBOR's Maalaea facility page lists fuel as 'delivered by truck'; the Coast Pilot confirms gasoline and diesel fuel by fuel truck, a launch ramp, and engine repairs, with the harbormaster on VHF 68 or (808) 243-5818 (office at the head of the harbor, 101 Maalaea Boat Harbor Road). DOBOR runs fuel here as mobile-truck concessions (for example IFB LM-23-002, January 2023, a concession for a mobile truck dispensing biodiesel at Maalaea); the current operator and schedule were not published, so call the harbor office a day ahead to arrange a delivery and find out where the truck can reach you (usually the loading dock). Surge in the harbor in all but calm weather; the reef and shoal in the middle of the basin limit where you can lie alongside. Propane: no marine refill was verified at Maalaea; Hawaii Gas serves Maui, Molokai and Lanai on (808) 877-6557 (offices 8am to 4pm).
