19° 38.4′ N · 155° 59.8′ W
Hawai'i's oldest food festival celebrates the Kona coffee harvest over ten days in early November, opening with a lantern parade from the Kailua pier and filling the coast with farm tours, an art stroll in Holualoa, a cupping competition and a big Ho'olaule'a.
Practical
Coordinate is the Kailua pier, where the lantern parade starts. 2026 is the 55th festival, November 6 to 15 (festival website): lantern parade November 6, 6pm to 7pm, Kailua pier to Hale Halawai; Made in Hawai'i Artisan Market November 6, 2pm to 9pm at Hale Halawai; Holualoa Coffee and Art Stroll November 7, 9am to 2pm; Ho'olaule'a November 14, 9am to 3pm at Makae'o Pavilion (Old Kona Airport park); cupping competition awards November 15. Farm tours that week include Greenwell Farms 'Seed to Cup' (November 9-13, 9am and 1pm), Hala Tree, Island Sun, UCC Hawaii and the Kona Historical Society Living History Farm. The parade and pier events crowd the Kailua anchorage and landing in the evening.
