Kaunakakai Fuel (Town Station and Wharf Truck Delivery)

21° 5.4′ N · 157° 1.4′ W

Molokai has no fuel dock: boats take gasoline and diesel by tank truck on the Kaunakakai wharf, or carry jerry cans from the island's single gas station in town.

Practical

Coast Pilot 10: gasoline and diesel fuel can be delivered by truck to the Kaunakakai pier; arrange it through the harbor agent, (808) 553-1742, and expect to need a minimum order (verify locally). For small amounts, the one gas station on Molokai (Go Visit Hawaii, 2019) is in Kaunakakai town; OpenStreetMap maps it as a Texaco (formerly Chevron) on the main road at this position, about a 0.6 mile walk from the wharf dinghy dock with cans. Island fuel arrives by barge, so prices run well above Oahu and supply can slip when a barge is late. No fuel at Kamalo, Pukoo, Halawa or Lono Harbor: arrive with tanks full.

Best for

Diesel by truck at the wharf, gasoline by jerry can
