Kanemitsu Bakery Hot Bread
21° 5.4′ N · 157° 1.3′ W
A family bakery on Ala Malama Avenue famous for Molokai sweet bread by day and, at night, Hot Bread Lane, where you line up at the back of the bakery for a whole steaming loaf split and filled with butter, cinnamon, cream cheese or jelly.
Practical
Kanemitsu's Bakery and Coffee Shop is on Ala Malama Ave; the after-hours hot bread is sold from the alley behind (OpenStreetMap lists the hot bread window roughly 7pm-11pm Sun and Tue-Thu and 7pm-midnight Fri-Sat; the coffee shop roughly 7am-1:30pm, closed Tuesday; verify locally, hours change). Go Hawaii recommends the onion-and-cheese bread or a half loaf with your choice of filling. Cash is handy. An easy walk from the wharf dinghy landing.
Best for
A late-night hot loaf after a day on the hook
