Kaihalulu (Red Sand) Beach
20° 45.2′ N · 155° 58.9′ W · approximate
A tiny cove of red cinder sand on the south flank of Kauiki Head, sheltered by a natural lava breakwater, one of the most striking beaches in Hawaii.
Practical
Approx: beach position from OpenStreetMap (way 44994051). Reached on foot by a narrow, eroding cliff path from Hana town: loose footing and real drop-offs. Currents outside the lava barrier are strong. Not a boat landing.
Best for
A short, adventurous walk from Hana
