Black Rock Sunset Cliff Dive
20° 55.6′ N · 156° 41.7′ W
Every evening at sunset a torch-lighter runs along Black Rock and leaps from the cliff, re-enacting the lele kawa of Kahekili, Maui's last ruling chief, from what Hawaiians called a leina a ka uhane, a 'leap of the soul' into the afterlife.
