Korfos Harbour

37° 45.9′ N · 23° 7.5′ E

An enclosed bay in the pine-clad Corinthian mountains with a small fishing village, taverna quays with laid lines and clean swimming water, the classic last stop before (or first stop after) the Corinth Canal.

Practical

Noonsite gives 37°45.856'N 023°07.514'E (bay entrance 37°45.48'N 023°07.53'E). SailingIssues: protected from all winds despite being open to the south; gusts from the north-west; good holding in sand and weed; a 60 m jetty (home to local charter yachts) where you can go alongside or stern-to in 4 m; two taverna sections of quay have finished edges and laid moorings; mind rocks protruding from the uneven parts of the quay. Noonsite user (May 2018): deeper than charted on the east side, 10-12 m until close in, then a shelf under 5 m; good holding; west-side tavernas have their own quays, free if you eat there. 2013 blog: water and electricity free at the taverna quays, a plank provided to get ashore, and free mooring buoys in the bay early in the season. Mosquitoes from a nearby marsh bite hard at dusk (Noonsite user, 2014), so screen the hatches. Patisserie-bakery, supermarket and taverna Stavedo (SailingIssues). Korfos is 1.9 nm from Selonta and about 10.6 nm (straight line) from the Corinth Canal east entrance.
