Frikes Harbour

38° 27.6′ N · 20° 39.9′ E

A small ferry and fishing harbour at the head of a north-facing bay on Ithaca's north coast, with a breakwater quay a few steps from the waterfront tavernas — quieter and less fought-over than Kioni next door.

Practical

Position is Noonsite's harbour-entrance fix (38°27.60'N 20°39.88'E). The floating pontoon installed in 2014 broke up and was removed in 2015 but still shows on some charts. Best berths: alongside or stern-to the breakwater close to the village; yachts drawing more than 2.5 m go stern-to the outer side. Inside the breakwater depths are under 2 m — keep your distance. The NW corner is less protected, and ferry/commercial wash makes boats roll — use plenty of fenders. Holding mediocre in sand and weed. Prevailing wind NW, gusts mostly from the W. A sign asks visitors to raft up when the quay is full (Noonsite cruiser report 2016). Ferries link Frikes with Fiskardo and Lefkada. Taverna Ageri on the waterfront.

Best for

An easier-to-get berth than Kioni with the same north-Ithaca scenery
