Agia Effimia Harbour

38° 18.1′ N · 20° 35.8′ E

A friendly fishing-village harbour on Kefalonia's east coast, popular with flotillas, with a wood-fired bakery and excavated Roman villa near the quay. Summer buses run from here to Myrtos.

Practical

Coordinate is the Wikipedia village point. Harbourmaster Mr Makis assigns berths on VHF 74 (+30 69 39 06 05 33 per SailingIssues — verify). North quay preferred; berths on the mole are on a lee shore. Many yachts anchor mid-basin on sand with weed patches. An obstruction inside the basin is marked on Eagleray, Garmin and C-Map charts. Vicious gusts funnel down from the W or NW. Unsuitable in strong NE–SSE winds. Can be full in high season. Roman villa ruins 100 m from the NW corner. Name day of Agia Effimia celebrated 11 July.
