Rhodes Port of Entry — Port Police & Customs, Mandraki

36° 27.0′ N · 28° 13.5′ E

Rhodes is the main Greek port of entry for the southern Dodecanese and the usual place to clear in from or out to Marmaris, Bozburun or Datça across the strait. The Central Port Authority (Limenarchio) building stands on Ethnarchou Makariou by Mandraki.

Practical

Noonsite lists Rhodes (Mandraki) as a port of entry. The Coast Guard (Limenarchio) is listed by Noonsite on VHF 12, with a phone number on its Noonsite listing that appears to be missing a digit, so confirm it locally. Call on arrival from Turkey. A 2015 Noonsite report of a DIY clearance from Rhodes Marina: taxi to Port Police (€15 fee), walk about 10 minutes to Immigration (free) and Customs (€20), then back to Port Police with your cruising-tax proof for the final stamp. That was 2015; verify locally. Today the Transit Log is the online e-TL and the cruising tax is TEPAI (see the area file). Agents: Navigo Yacht Agency (nicos@navigo-agency.com, +30 697 928 6667; hail on VHF 9 at the entrance per Noonsite 2015, or VHF 6 per Sailing Issues) books Mandraki berths and runs the paperwork, holding passports until departure. It wants 4–7 days' notice, longer in July and August. Roditis Yachting is Rhodes Marina's partner agent. Bluebonnet Maritime is on VHF 77 and A1 Yachting on VHF 73. One 2016 Noonsite report describes a dispute with an agency over papers and fees: agree all fees in writing. Check out here before sailing to Turkey, raise the Turkish courtesy flag in Turkish waters and report at once to a Turkish port of entry. Mid-passage flag swapping is illegal (Sailing Issues).
