Lipsi Harbour

37° 17.7′ N · 26° 46.0′ E

A friendly little harbour at the head of Lipsi bay below the blue-domed church of St John — the social hub of the small islands between Patmos and Leros.

Practical

Yacht pier (finished 2001); the inner basin on the east side is preferred — more shelter, less roll; the outside rolls. Stern-to in summer, often in a cross-wind; no lazy lines, so crossed anchors happen; holding decent in slightly muddy sand. The old pontoon was removed in 2020 but still shows on most electronic charts. Harbour master Manolis assigns berths and collects a €5 tie-down fee if he handles your lines (2025). Peak days: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, when Kos and Samos charter fleets arrive. Water and electricity pillars on the quay and both sides of the yacht pier (cards at Casa di Vino; check water quality before filling tanks). Diesel on the south side of the port or by truck. Public toilets; no showers; recycling bins only — unsorted yacht rubbish is collected at the pier entrance each morning and late afternoon (Sailing Issues). Grecosailor: draught about 3 m, best northerly shelter inside; tel +30 22470 41133. Keep clear of the ferry quay.
