Kardamyla / Marmaro Harbour (Chios)

38° 32.6′ N · 26° 6.6′ E

The small man-made harbour of Marmaro, port of the shipowners' village of Kardamyla on the NE coast — a sailor's statue on the quay and a statue of women watching the sea on the islet offshore.

Practical

About a dozen berths; moor alongside or stern-to on the S side of the jetty (CruisersWiki). Well protected with a slight swell in normal conditions (Grecosailor), but strong northerlies send an uncomfortable swell in and spray over the breakwater. Water and electricity on the jetty with prepaid keys from the port police. Fee reported €12.50 for a monohull (Grecosailor, date not stated — verify locally); port phone +30 22720 23577. Fuel: CruisersWiki (2024 snapshot) lists a BP station about 1 km uphill (+30 22710 23565 / 22955; sometimes delivers); OSM now maps an Elinoil station about 600 m inland — see the Kardamyla fuel entry. Provisions: see Kardamyla / Marmaro Provisions. Alternatively anchor in the bay SE of the jetty. Harbour light Fl (OSM seamark). Cafés, fish tavernas, shops and ATM (greektravel; marinatips).
