Skiadi Rock Hike (Kimolos)

36° 48.5′ N · 24° 32.4′ E

A walk across Kimolos's barren interior to Skiadi, a giant mushroom-shaped rock carved by the wind, with wide views over the island.

Practical

Wikipedia: Skiadi is a huge mushroom-shaped stone in a small valley, shaped by wind-borne dust wearing away the softer lower layers. Wikivoyage: allow about 70–90 minutes on foot in total, or drive part of the way and finish on the signed path. OpenStreetMap maps the 'Monopati Skiadi' footpath from the Chorio side to the rock (pin). No shade or water on the route; go early or late in summer and carry water.

Best for

A half-day walk from Psathi or Chorio
