Piso Livadi Harbour (Paros)
37° 2.1′ N · 25° 15.5′ E
A small, friendly harbour on Paros's east coast in Marpissa Bay, a minor charter base and the departure point for ferries and excursion boats to the Small Cyclades.
Practical
Sailingissues: approach from the SE. An elongated reef runs about 300 m east of the harbour and then points south (shown on Garmin and Eagleray charts). Option 1: stern-to the south pier, with laid moorings at the east end; near the green light you must use your own anchor. Sand holding is solid, so use full chain; not meltemi-proof without a laid mooring. Option 2: anchor south of the west breakwater (red light), several boat lengths off, with a second anchor taken to the breakwater by dinghy. That is safer in strong northerlies but more exposed to swell and open to southerlies. mySea: yachts lie stern-to the outer western mole in up to 5 m; inside is up to 3 m and shoals quickly. The east jetty is for local fishing boats, and in high season a ferry uses the head of the eastern mole, so no mooring there. Southerly winds make the harbour dangerous, and a long meltemi brings swell. Water, electricity and fuel are listed (mySea). Halaris ouzeri is on the waterfront (Sailingissues). Sklavenitis supermarket is in Marpissa above the village, and Melanitis Food Market and a bakery are in Piso Livadi (OpenStreetMap). Position from the mySea harbour entry.
