Manolas Village Walk (Thirasia)
36° 26.1′ N · 25° 20.7′ E
Thirasia's main village (about 140 people) runs along the rim of the caldera cliff, a quiet, unvarnished version of Oia with the whole caldera spread below. Climb up from Korfos, then walk the spine of the island to Potamos and Agia Irini.
Practical
Coordinates: Manolas (OSM). From Korfos a stepped serpentine path climbs the cliff (sailingissues; Medgulets calls it a short climb). Allow 20-40 minutes depending on heat. From Riva quay it is about 45 minutes on foot to Agrilia, Manolas or Potamos (sailingissues). Village populations in 2021: Manolas 140, Potamos 74, Agia Irini 28, Agrilia 5 (Wikipedia). The Panorama restaurant and a snack bar are on the rim (OSM), and there are several chapels along the way. No shade on the path; go early or near sunset.
