Kalo Ampeli Beach (Serifos)

37° 7.4′ N · 24° 29.7′ E

A small turquoise bay on the south coast hemmed in by wind-sculpted rocks, reached on land only by a 20-minute path. It is lovely from a boat.

Practical

mySea anchorage: 4-10 m sand, good to very good holding, 'very strong gusts in the bay, but no swell'. A second mySea point just west gives 6-12 m over sand, sand with weed and rock. No shade or services ashore. e-serifos warns that wash from passing ferries sends waves onto the beach. The Metamorfosi chapel at Kalo Ampeli holds its feast on August 5-6 (municipal calendar).

Best for

Gusty but swell-free lunch or overnight stop
