Gerolimnionas Bay (Schinoussa)

36° 53.1′ N · 25° 30.7′ E · approximate

A small, quiet beach inside a large bay at Schinoussa's north-west corner, with a good seabed for snorkelling and spearfishing.

Practical

Position is approx: offset seaward from OpenStreetMap's Gerolimnionas beach (36.8857N 25.5127E) into the bay's water, checked against OSM coastline; re-verified in 2026 by a point-in-polygon test against the OSM Schinoussa island outline: the point is in water about 70 m off the shore, west-south-west of the beach. No published pilot data on depth or holding was found. The bay opens to the west and north-west, so use it only in settled weather or light southerlies, not in the meltemi. schinoussa.gr describes the seabed as good for exploring and spearfishing. schinoussa.gr says the beach is sheltered within a large bay.
