A two-boat sand anchorage in 3–5 m off Maharepa, just east of the Cook's Bay entrance, steps from the island's busiest little commercial village.

Decree 910 CM polygon: 17°28.85'S–17°28.90'S, 149°48.794'W–149°48.93'W. Quota 2, 48 h. Well protected from swell; sand bottom 3–5 m. A PGEM protected zone marked by yellow buoys is close by. Land the dinghy on the small beach in front of the pharmacy, only in good light because of coral; the Moorea Beach Café floating dock is for customers only (Noonsite 2019 report: follow the small channel in front of the café between two white buoys). Ashore: pharmacy, doctors, banks/ATMs, post office, laundromat (WhatsApp +689 87 70 64 65), AH5 Sailing sailmaker, Polymat hardware, bakery, wine shop, supermarket, Manava Beach Resort day pass. Don't anchor close to the private jetty. Bikes have been stolen here; lock everything. Legal status (Oct 2026): the ZMR quotas come from arrêté 910 CM of 26 June 2025, which the Administrative Tribunal of French Polynesia annulled on 15 July 2026 (case 2500441, brought by the Association des Voiliers en Polynésie); the anchoring articles of the 2021 PGEM were also annulled by the Paris appeal court with effect from 1 June 2026. Noonsite (Aug 2026) reports the restrictions are not currently ratified and talks between AVP and local groups are ongoing. Until a replacement rule is published, treat the ZMR quotas and 48-hour limit as the expected good practice, check escales.gov.pf or call DPAM (40 54 45 78, 24/7) before arriving, and expect the nautical patrol (87 704 657) to ask about your stay.
