Paea Passes Dives (Fausse Passe, Arche & Voûte de Paea)

17° 40.8′ S · 149° 35.8′ W

The south-west reef off Paea: a false pass swept by the outgoing current, with a drop-off, a narrow vertiginous fault, a coral arch and a vault, and eagle rays playing in the current inside.

Practical

Coordinates are Eleuthera's 'Fausse Passe Paea' (which matches Passe Poohonu on OpenStreetMap). Morays and turtles are the usual residents (Eleuthera). Dive with a Taina operator; the outgoing current is strong in the passes.
