Huahine is vanilla country. Several family vanilleraies around Haapu, one award-winning, open their shade houses to visitors and sell pods direct.

Others: 'Vanille Bio' at Faie (16.7258°S 150.9845°W), 'Maison de la Vanille' at Maeva, and a vanilla sales point at 16.7789°S 151.0099°W. The 2025 brief lists 'visit a vanilla plantation' as a must-do and notes that Haapu has several, including a prize-winner. Huahine Nautique's 4x4 safari also stops at one.
