Fare Town Quay (Huahine)

16° 42.9′ S · 151° 2.1′ W

Huahine's working port in the centre of Fare: the concrete quay where inter-island schooners and ferries berth, with a floating dinghy pontoon beside the Huahine Yacht Club. Super U, the market and the snack bars are all a few steps away.

Practical

Position from the OpenStreetMap 'Port de Fare' ferry-terminal node. This is not a marina; there are no yacht berths. You may lie alongside the big concrete quay for a few hours to provision as long as you do not obstruct schooners and ferries (shipping schedule on escales.gov.pf). Dinghies tie up at the floating pontoon in front of the Huahine Yacht Club. Water: the HYC has a locked tap on the land side of its dinghy dock and charges by the hour, mornings only (Noonsite 2020-2022; verify locally). The dock by the dive club can be used only by prior arrangement; the dive club holds the water key. Fuel by jerrycan from the two filling stations in town. Sort rubbish into two bags (recyclables; household); bins in Fare. Free Wi-Fi near the mairie (2023).
