Bloody Mary's (Bora Bora)
16° 31.8′ S · 151° 44.7′ W
The South Pacific's most famous sailors' bar, with a sand floor, thatched roof, a nightly fresh-fish display on ice and a wall listing its famous guests. Closed since 2023 while it is rebuilt as the heart of the new 53-room Bloody Mary's Hotel.
Practical
Status (Oct 2026): restaurant closed for redevelopment; Noonsite gives a September 1, 2026 opening for the boutique hotel, and the hotel website is live, so check before planning dinner. Moorings off the restaurant are now BBMS's Povai field; its dinghy dock and wharf water tap were inaccessible during construction. When open (pre-2023): fish of the day displayed on ice every evening except Sunday, with ordering direct from the host; lunches of burgers and local dishes; phone +689 40 67 69 10. Cruisers formerly enjoyed Mon/Wed/Fri happy hours with two-for-one cocktails (2019; verify locally).
