Le Bleu (Tiputa blue-water dive)

14° 58.0′ S · 147° 37.2′ W · approximate

A blue-water hang about 300 m off Tiputa's outer reef, waiting in open water for silvertip sharks and, with luck, silky sharks before drifting back to the wall.

Practical

Approx: dive operators do not publish GPS for individual sites. Placed by reckoning from the Tiputa Pass ocean-mouth waypoint (Noonsite, 14.96683S 147.6245W) and the Tahiti Heritage pass centre (14.97062S 147.62797W), using the pass dimensions Tahiti Heritage gives (400 m wide, 900 m long) and the operator's description of where the dive runs. Placed about 300 m seaward of L'Eolienne, as the operator describes. Divers hold position for about 15 minutes, then drift back toward the reef (6 Passengers dive centre). The operator's page gives an unclear depth (it says both 'about 250 m' and 'about fifteen metres of water'), so confirm the profile with the dive centre. For divers comfortable with no visual reference.
