Hakahau's bakery-café: baguettes (even on Sunday if you arrive early), pastries, sandwiches and boxed lunches, with the best customer wifi on the island. It also rents cars and does laundry.

Hours (2019, verify locally): Monday to Saturday 5am-3pm, Sunday 5-8am. Pre-order bread. Staff frown on customers 'camping' at the tables on their laptops. Clean restroom around the back (2021). Car rental from the boulangerie (2019); in 2024 Migration had a rental car delivered to them at Vaiehu. Laundry by the boulangerie: +689 87 314 729 (2019). Noonsite (June 2024) confirms the boulangerie-café sells baguettes, sandwiches, pre-packaged lunches, pastries and some produce, with clean restrooms out the back. A June 2019 Noonsite comment: follow the main road from the anchorage and bear left before the community building to find a pizza takeaway with a wifi café next door.
