Aratika North Shore Moorings (Mairie)

15° 29.0′ S · 145° 30.2′ W · approximate

Moorings in the lagoon off the middle of Aratika's long north motu, where OpenStreetMap shows the mairie, school and health post, a few miles west of the east-pass village.

Practical

Coordinate approximate: about 250 m south (into the lagoon) of the mairie mapped in OpenStreetMap. Ari B (Dec 2020): 'further moorings are available at the village, located in the middle of the north motu'. Ocean Crusaders (2016) describe the main town halfway along the north edge with a large dock; they anchored off and took the dinghy in. Cruiser accounts disagree on which cluster is the 'town' (the east-pass settlement is Paparara on maps). Ask on arrival which dock the mairie and supply ship use. Protected from N-E; open to S across the lagoon. Inspect any mooring before use.

Best for
