Zaraće (Hvar)

43° 9.0′ N · 16° 30.8′ E

A tiny, pretty bay on Hvar's south coast about 6 km east of Hvar Town, with pebble beaches and cliffs. It is popular with snorkellers for its underwater scenery.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM bay node 'Uvala Velo Zaraće'; Malo Zaraće is the smaller cove just west. Anchor in 8-10 m on mostly sand. The local buoy field and pier are for local boats under 1 m draught; a beach restaurant runs a few buoys for charter boats. Good shelter from northerly winds, not safe in southerlies. Taxi to Hvar Town.

Best for

Snorkelling and a beach-restaurant lunch

Season
