Saplun & the Lastovnjaci (Lastovo)

42° 46.8′ N · 16° 59.1′ E

A chain of uninhabited islets off the north-east of Lastovo with some of the clearest water in the Adriatic. Saplun has a sheltered turquoise lagoon with a sandy beach.

Practical

Saplun is a park buoy field only, 4-8 m, good shelter from most directions and the best overnight in the eastern islets. Elsewhere the depth jumps from 5 m to 20 m quickly; anchor only on sand at approved sites and never on seagrass. No restaurants, no water. Inside the Lastovo Islands Nature Park: every boat needs a park ticket (see the park fee entry), park buoys cost extra, and anchoring is only allowed at approved sites.

Best for

Wild islets and very clear water
