Orebić Harbour (Pelješac)

42° 58.4′ N · 17° 10.5′ E

The harbour of Orebić, the old sea-captains' town on the Pelješac peninsula facing Korčula across the channel. It is a handy alternative when the Korčula marina is full, and the start of the 10-15 minute ferry hop to Korčula.

Practical

About 220 berths, mostly for local boats; about 25 transit berths on the inner side of the breakwater, stern or bow-to on laid lines with water and power. Depths are only about 1-4 m, and the laid lines run very flat, so it suits boats under 12 m drawing 2 m or less. Keep the breakwater head clear for ferries and passenger boats, and watch for ferries at the entrance. Sheltered from most winds, but maestral sends waves into the north-west corner and strong S or W winds can raise a sea at the front. Harbour phone +385 20 714 366; open 1 Apr-30 Oct. No fuel: the nearest is at Korčula, about 2 nm. Shops, bakery and market in town.
