Badija Island Anchorage (Badija)
42° 57.0′ N · 17° 9.6′ E · approximate
A pine-covered islet just east of Korčula town, the largest of the Škoji group. It is a favourite morning swim and breakfast stop before the maestral builds in the channel.
Practical
Position is approximate, off the south-west shore near the small Bojenfeld pontoon. Anchor on sandy patches with good holding, avoiding seagrass. It gets windy once the maestral fills in, usually after midday. The waters of the Škoji islets have shallow spots; a 4-knot speed limit applies among them. One restaurant ashore.
Best for
Morning swim and a walk ashore
Season
May-Oct; best early in the day
