Korčula Old Town (Korčula)

42° 57.6′ N · 17° 8.1′ E

A walled medieval town on a small peninsula, laid out in a herringbone grid so the streets catch the summer breeze and block the bura. St Mark's Cathedral, the town museum and the house claimed as Marco Polo's are all within a few minutes' walk.

Practical

Walk in from the ACI marina or the west harbour. The bar on top of a corner tower of the walls is the classic sunset stop and gets crowded. Book dinner ahead in July and August.

Best for

An evening walk and dinner in the old town

Season

Year-round; busiest Jul-Aug
