Hvar Town harbour (Hvar)

43° 10.2′ N · 16° 26.4′ E

One of the most glamorous harbours in the Adriatic, a Renaissance town wrapped round a small bay under the Fortica fortress. In July and August the quay fills with superyachts and the harbour churns with taxi boats and tenders. Lovely, but expensive and rolly in season.

Practical

Coordinate is the OSM bay node 'Luka Hvar'. Berth stern-to on the town quay (Riva), one of the priciest berths on the coast: a charter company's June 2026 guide puts a summer night at roughly €120 for 33 ft up to €230 for 56 ft, and about double for a catamaran. Buoys on the west side of the harbour are cheaper but nearly impossible to get in high season unless you arrive early. Anchoring is banned in and off the harbour entrance (see 'Hvar harbour anchoring ban'). Constant wash from taxi boats, ferries and tenders; nights are loud. Many skippers stay at ACI Palmižana or in Vinogradišće and take a taxi boat in (about 10 minutes, roughly every half hour from the west side of the harbour). Harbour Master branch Hvar +385 21 741 007, VHF 10 and 16. Fuel at INA Hvar in Križna luka just south-east of town.
