Hvar harbour anchoring ban (Gališnik)
43° 10.0′ N · 16° 26.3′ E
Anchoring is forbidden within 0.6 nm of Gališnik, the islet with a light at the mouth of Hvar harbour, and inside the line from Cape Špartibutin on Marinkovac to Cape Kovač on Hvar. In practice this closes the whole Hvar harbour approach to anchoring.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM islet Gališnik (light 'Galisnik'). The ban was added to the official Croatian pilot (Peljar) by the Hydrographic Institute in 2025 (notice 21-5/25). Use the town quay, the west-side buoys, ACI Palmižana or the Pakleni bays instead. National rules from April 2025 also ban anchoring within 150 m of natural beaches and limit tenders to 500 m from the mother ship except when running to the nearest mooring. The harbour master can fine boats that break local bans.
