Croatian Anchoring Rules 2025 (Vis area)
43° 3.7′ N · 16° 11.2′ E · approximate
New national navigation rules took effect in April 2025 and apply all round Vis and Biševo. They set minimum distances from shore and limit where you may anchor.
Practical
Placed at Vis harbour for reference. Key points: no anchoring within 150 m of a natural beach; when under way, boats under 15 m keep at least 50 m from shore and 15-30 m boats at least 150 m; anchor gear must not reach more than 50 m out from the coast; tenders stay within 500 m of the mother boat except when running to a landing; paddleboards and jet skis only between sunrise and sunset and within 300 m of shore. Harbour masters can add local bans. Anyone charging an anchoring fee must show an official concession card; otherwise anchoring outside ports and concessions is free.
