Placencia Fuel Dock & Town Dock

16° 31.0′ N · 88° 22.2′ W

Placencia's fuel dock and the public town dock are the cruiser's landing points in the village: diesel and gasoline alongside, water at the town dock, and a safe place to leave the dinghy.

Practical

Fuel: OpenStreetMap maps a fuel point here on the lagoon side next to MnM Hardware & Service Station; Soundings describes 'a fuel dock at the end of Main Street' where you can also land the dinghy, with a gate locked after 6:00 pm, so tie up on the inside if you will be late; tip from the same article: bring a marked 5-gallon can to check the real price (older article). OCC: water and fuel alongside in Placencia and park the dinghy on the inside of the fuel dock (2005). Town Dock (16.51337, -88.36474): about 15 ft alongside, water available (OpenStreetMap note). Moorings eGuide (2025): water and ice from village supermarkets; garbage disposal US$5. Brand and opening hours were not found in a current source - verify locally.
