Long Caye Wall (Glover's Reef)

16° 45.2′ N · 87° 46.7′ W · approximate

The signature dive at Glover's: a sheer wall just off the east side of Long Caye that drops thousands of feet, described as one of Jacques Cousteau's favourite dives, with turtles, eagle rays, nurse sharks and the occasional whale shark.

Practical

Position approximate: placed on the reef edge just east of Long Caye's OpenStreetMap outline; no published waypoint. The resort describes the wall as a 3,000-foot drop and dive sites 2-10 minutes by boat from Long Caye (Off the Wall). Dive with a licensed operator; never anchor on the reef - use a mooring or drift with a tender. Exposed to the trades and ocean swell: plan for calm mornings.
