Denny's Beach (Lago de Izabal)
15° 28.6′ N · 89° 1.5′ W
A small resort on Lake Izabal's south shore, about 12 miles across the lake from the Castillo, with moorings, a restaurant and walks to a local village — the classic lake outing from Fronteras.
Practical
Position from OCC notes: 15°28.63'N 89°01.46'W. At the time: 4 free mooring buoys and a restaurant; walk to the local village or trek inland. Effectively a lee shore — a sharp afternoon chop can build even in light winds; uncomfortable in strong winds. Visit in settled weather. Old wiki notes called it a safer place to stop than El Estor.
Best for
Fresh-water sailing and a lakeside meal
