Cucumber Beach Marina (Old Belize)

17° 28.2′ N · 88° 14.8′ W

Belize City's full-service marina, tucked behind a diagonal jetty at Old Belize about 5 miles southwest of downtown, with a restaurant, laundry, museum and a giant seawater pool and slide. Position is Noonsite's entrance-channel waypoint.

Practical

Enter only at high tide (Noonsite); BTB lists max 100 ft, draft 4 ft at low and 5 ft at high tide, BZ$1.98 per ft per day, phone 222-4153 (undated - verify locally). Call on VHF 16; one cruiser was guided in on VHF 68 using a waypoint supplied by the manager (Soundings). Noonsite lists fuel, laundry, pump-out, Wi-Fi in the restaurant, haul-out and some repairs, and says the marina can arrange clearance; it is a SailClear location (BTB). Soundings: propane refill, outboard repair, Sibun Bite restaurant. No supermarket or ATM close by - taxi to town for provisioning. Do not anchor off: not in the lee, very rolly, poor holding over 25 knots. Not protected for hurricanes. Docks are aging and transient space is limited by local charter boats; reserve ahead (noforeignland). Belize Zoo is about 20 miles away.
