Southeast Point Anchorage (Mayaguana)
22° 17.2′ N · 72° 47.5′ W
A staging spot at Mayaguana's south-east corner, recommended by Bruce Van Sant as the jumping-off point for an easy night exit toward Providenciales.
Practical
ActiveCaptain: approach from the east over a large area of clear sand and anchor in about 18 ft; do not tuck in too close because of large coral heads. You will need a bridle for the swell that wraps around the point. Not normally an overnight anchorage, but fine in settled N to E. BTC signal OK, no WiFi; beach landings possible.
Best for
Staging for an overnight run to the Caicos
