Green Cay SE Anchorage
24° 2.2′ N · 77° 9.3′ W
The calmest anchorage at Green Cay, an isolated, palm- and tree-covered cay on the edge of the Great Bahama Bank at the southern end of the Tongue of the Ocean, with a wide sandy beach and coral heads to snorkel.
Practical
Position from ActiveCaptain. Circle round the SE side, staying at least 100 yards off the beach, and anchor in about 8 ft over clear, deep sand with excellent holding. Protected by the cay and a broad expanse of very shallow water to the east. Beach access only; no cell service. Several coral-head areas suit snorkellers of all levels (2015 review).
Best for
A stop between the Exumas and South Andros
