24° 44.3′ N · 76° 14.0′ W

A small, sheltered marina basin cut into the Exuma Sound shore at Wemyss Bight, the last fuel and dock before Eleuthera Point, Little San Salvador and Cat Island.

Practical

Position from Bahamas Marinas (24.738518, -76.233213). 24 slips (15 transient), vessels to 80 to 90 ft; listed 8 ft approach and dockside; VHF 16; office 7:00 am to 5:00 pm; phone (242) 334-6303 (Waterway Guide directory, Bahamas Marinas). Fuel, water, 30/50 A power, Wi-Fi, laundry, showers, ice, ramp; restaurant and bar listed but cruisers found it closed in 2017 to 2018. Not a port of entry. Entrance: the floating buoys are gone; follow the pole markers close to the entrance and favour the port side entering, where a sand bar has formed on the starboard side (2018). Shoaling is the big issue: a 2019 boat saw 5.5 ft at mid-tide and a January 2024 reviewer was told 4 ft on the approach: call ahead and come in on a rising tide. Very protected inside. Ocean Fox dive and fishing operation based here (older listing); 'The Bridge' fishing ground about 15 minutes out.

Best for

Fuel and a protected berth at the south end of Eleuthera (shallow-draft)
