Colonel Hill Airport and Public Dock (Crooked Island port of entry)

22° 44.7′ N · 74° 10.9′ W

Bahamas Customs lists Colonel Hill Airport and the public dock as Crooked Island's designated ports of entry, the only ones between Long Island and Inagua; Colonel Hill (IATA CRI) is also the island's Bahamasair airport, with flights to Nassau and Spring Point.

Practical

Airport position from OurAirports (runway 09/27, about 4,061 by 60 ft, asphalt). The Customs ports-of-entry page lists 'Colonel Hill Airport' and 'Public Dock' for Crooked Island; it does not name which dock, and no staffed Customs office for Crooked Island appears in the Customs office directory, while Crooked Island Lodge states there is no customs or immigration on the island (for aircraft). Do not count on clearing here: buy the cruising permit online through Click2Clear (mandatory since Feb 2021) and confirm by phone with Customs (+1 242-604-3124/5) before arrival, or clear at Clarence Town (Long Island) or Matthew Town (Inagua). Q flag up; only the captain goes ashore until cleared. Cruising-permit fees per Bahamas Customs (fee schedule viewed 2026): 30-day up to 30 ft $150, 30-50 ft $250, 50-100 ft $350; 12-month up to 50 ft $500. Outbound clearance $75 if your next country needs papers. Bahamasair flies Nassau-Colonel Hill (Wednesday and Saturday per a recent travel guide); the police station is across from the airport.
