Cistern Rock / Bottom Harbour Anchorage

25° 27.5′ N · 76° 38.1′ W

The waiting spot at the site of the old Harbour Island ferry dock, marking the end of the sandbar swept in through the Harbour Island cut — and the gateway to Bottom Harbour, where turtles gather.

Practical

9-11 ft; fair holding in sand, avoid grass. Protection NE to W. Controlling depth past the old pilings is about 6 ft: deeper boats wait here for the tide before heading for the Harbour Mouth or Bottom Harbour; otherwise continue along the shore and anchor south of Cistern Rock.

Best for

Waiting on the tide near the Harbour Island south entrance
