Cave Cay West Anchorage

26° 51.8′ N · 77° 54.7′ W

The west-side anchorage at Cave Cay, good in north-east to south-east winds, reached by the West End Bars route around the tip of Little Abaco.

Practical

ActiveCaptain position. Use the West End Bars route to Cave Cay West for good depths. Tides run about 3 hours past Nassau, flooding from the north and ebbing from the south. Beach landings; no wifi but a good BTC signal. Reviewers looked for the caves the cay is named after without finding them (2022). Cave Cay's two interior lagoons are joined by a deep channel worth exploring by dinghy (see Cave and Cashs Cays Anchorage).

Best for

East-wind shelter on the way into the Bight
