Seasonal· Exuma Cays

Weather resources and cruisers' nets

The Exumas have no reliable cell coverage between settlements, so the fleet runs on a small set of well-known services — a paid router, a few SSB nets, and the daily VHF cruisers' net in George Town.

Practical

CHRIS PARKER / MARINE WEATHER CENTER (mwxc.com) — the standard Bahamas router. 863-248-2702, chris@mwxc.com. Regional daily email forecasts about $1/day; SSB voice broadcasts. LISTENING IS FREE; asking a vessel-specific question requires a subscription. SSB winter 2025/26: all-areas 8137 and 12350 kHz USB at 2200 UTC. GEORGE TOWN CRUISERS' NET — VHF CHANNEL 72 daily; weather, arrivals, buy/sell. Time is reported as both 08:00 and 09:00 by different sources — confirm on arrival. VHF 68 is the Elizabeth Harbour hailing channel. BASRA 4003 kHz USB at 0720 UTC. Highbourne Cay Marina broadcasts a morning weather report on VHF for the northern Exumas. Windy, PredictWind and bahamasweather.org.bs for planning.
