Bahamian public holidays affecting a March trip
Public holidays close government offices, customs and immigration, banks and many settlement stores, and fill anchorages with local boats. In 2027 Easter falls unusually early.

2027: Good Friday 26 March, Easter Sunday 28 March, Easter Monday 29 March — the key March conflict. Expect closed offices, reduced mailboat service, packed settlement churches and busy beaches Fri-Mon. Other 2027 holidays: Majority Rule Day 10 Jan; Labour Day first Friday in June; Independence Day 10 July; Emancipation Day 2 Aug. Clear in and out on a working day where possible — customs overtime fees apply on holidays. There is no Junkanoo parade in March; Junkanoo is 26 December and 1 January.
