Icy Strait Point (Hoonah)
58° 7.8′ N · 135° 27.7′ W
Icy Strait Point is a privately owned cruise destination run by Huna Totem Corporation, built around a restored 1912 salmon cannery, with the ZipRider, whale-watching boats and bear viewing. It is a cruise-ship port, not a yacht marina.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM site area, ashore. The ZipRider drops nearly 1,300 ft from a ridge to the beach. Cruise-ship days (about 240 visits in 2024) can crowd the area; many tours are sold only through the ships and sell out. Whether private yachts may tie up here is unconfirmed; use Hoonah Harbor instead.
Best for
A cannery museum, whale tours and zipline from Hoonah
