14° 36.2′ N · 61° 3.9′ W · approximate

Fort-de-France is Martinique's main port of entry. Yachts normally clear on the online declaration or at an approved clearance computer, but a customs office is needed for anything beyond routine clearance, such as importing a pet or temporary-import questions.

Practical

Clearance computers in Fort-de-France (French customs list, January 2026): Station CAP DCML at the Baie des Tourelles careenage (Mon-Sat 8 am-5 pm, Sun and holidays 9:15 am-noon); the Étang Z'Abricots marina office (reception 7 am-5 pm, on duty 6 am-6 pm); and Sea Services chandlery, 109 rue Ernest Deproge (Mon-Fri 8:30 am-5 pm, Sat 8:30 am-12:30 pm, closed Sunday). Online clearance is about €5 (Doyle Guides; Noonsite cites a €5 admin charge). Customs office: a 2018 Noonsite report found customs in the Express des Îles inter-island ferry terminal after published addresses proved wrong, and they handled a cat import. Customs Fort-de-France tel +596 596 70 73 33 (Rade de Saint-Pierre emergency list). Regional customs directorate: Plateau-Roy, Cluny, +596 596 70 72 72, di-antilles-guyane@douane.finances.gouv.fr. Border police (immigration) +596 596 52 89 70. Position is the inter-island terminal (OSM), so it is approximate.
