Praslin's main harbour bay on the east coast, with the ferry jetty, the Dream Yacht Charter base and a sleepy waterfront town of shops, restaurants and bars; the island's working base for fuel, water and ice.
Practical
Sand in 4–8 m over most of the anchoring area with among the most reliable holding in the inner islands (koek.sc). Well sheltered in the south-east trades; a cross-swell makes it uncomfortable and in strong NW monsoon conditions untenable. The Moorings notes ample room to anchor, rental moorings for a fee and dockage at the Dream Yacht Charter base. Keep clear of the Cat Cocos and Inter Island ferry lanes to the jetty. Granite outcrops can sit under sand; check the set. Position approximate: mid-bay from the OSM bay outline, about 450 m off the shore.
