La Digue's world-famous beach: sculpted pink-granite boulders, powder sand and a reef-sheltered lagoon so shallow and calm it is safe for children. Most visitors rank it among the most photographed beaches on earth.
Practical
Coordinate from Wikipedia. Access only through L'Union Estate (SCR 150 entry, verify locally) - bike from La Passe, about 15 minutes. Navigare: sheltered by the reef, very calm and shallow with only sand underfoot. Very shallow at low tide (60 cm at the last accessible point, SeyVillas) - the hike south to Anse Pierrot means wading. Go early before the day-trippers. Not a yacht anchorage: the lagoon is inside the reef; arrive by bike from La Passe.
